Drawing/Artwork
Line of Symmetry Artwork
Artwork was used to help the students understand the concept of symmetry. The students folded their paper and applied paint to it in a design of their choice. The teacher modeled the activity before the students began to reinforce the verbal instructions previously given.
Graphic Organizers
Cause/Effect Graphic Organizer
The Cause/Effect Graphic Organizer was used for a 7th Grade Social Studies Lesson. The students were to give the causes and effects of two Middle Eastern conflicts. The Yom Kippur War and the Six-Day War were used. This organizer was given as a homework assignment and it gave the students all the information they would need for the next class. The students were motivated because they had acquired the background information that was used in class following the assignment.

R.A.F.T. Writing
The school implemented RAFT Writing in all disciplines. RAFT Writing allows the students to choose a role (R), an Audience(A), a format(F), and a Topic (T). The students' topics usually come from the lesson discussed in class and following they choose their role, audience and format. Most of the students chose a letter as their format. This is a great way to implement interdisciplinary instruction.
Games
The game Jeopardy was used to reinforce the content that was taught in several lessons. The students applied their knowledge to answer the questions as the game served as an informal assessement.
